Almost every problem you can think of with regard to government on the Isle of Man is rooted in the same core issue… The structure and format of government itself. The way we elect (or rather don’t elect) government on the Isle of Man is essentially unique. We are pretty much the only place in the world with free and open elections, but no influence on the policies we receive. There is no way for the public to authoritatively confirm what they want, no effective counterbalance and no real accountability. If we can't actually indicate what we want, and there's no effective system of control or consequence once government has formed, it shouldn't really be a surprise that we're often disappointed with the outcomes.
I am offering focused direct action on this root issue. If you want progress, or change, or even just the basics done right, this is the only realistic proposal.
